The classic daiquiri, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s the closest thing to cocktail perfection I know. I’ve written about its unfair and unfortunate history before, so today let’s follow the wisdom of our good friend Jesse Card:
Let’s just make the damn daiquiri and get it going!
Get the simple daiquiri recipe here. The rum of choice for the video shot a year ago was Cruzan Aged Light Rum. We’ve definitely spent many a day, evening, and let’s be fair, morning enjoying cocktails made from this hometown hero. For years, it certainly was the go to light rum for cocktails growing up on St. Croix, but the times they have changed.
Cruzan Estate Diamond Light is my absolute favorite rum to mix in cocktails. The integrity of this well-aged clean rum makes it so easy to get rich balanced flavor into any drink. Don’t be fooled by its Chardonnay hue either – wood and spice are here to dance!
So, pull up a chair and let’s join Jesse for a daiquiri, old-school style.
