2,000 Reasons to Experience The Real Caribbean
It’s my birthday today, which in and of itself is usually a good enough excuse for me to celebrate. This particular b’day, however, is extra-special as by some flukey coincidence, today’s story, the one you’re reading right now, marks the 2,000th post we’ve published here on UncommonCaribbean.com!
As the guy doing most of the posting, I am, of course, rather tickled about this. After all, it wasn’t all that long ago that Uncommon Caribbean was just a dream batting about my head with no real prospects for ever seeing the light of day. Then along came Patrick, who sprinkled his magic, got this thing organized, and we were off and running.
If you’ve been with us for any extended stretch of time then you already know that UC is much more than a job to me. In fact, it’s not even my day job at all.
So, why do it?
Well, to put it simply, Uncommon Caribbean is really all about love. The love (and pride) we have for our West Indian roots, the charmed upbringing we enjoyed in St. Croix, and the hope we have that with a little bit of informed help and guidance you’ll grow to love our islands just as much as we do.
We may have given you 2,000 reasons to visit and experience the real Caribbean as of today, but it’s really your gift of support and continued interest in UC that has me feeling especially grateful today.
