Back Country Fishing in Jamaica: Wish You Were Here

Anglers of all sorts delight in Jamaica’s fishing product, particularly those keen on taking to the surrounding seas to tackle big game. Mahi mahi, blue and white marlin, sailfish, tuna – all are plentiful, especially off Jamaica’s north shore where scores of experienced charter operators equipped with the latest and greatest fishing gear stand ready to make your sportfishing dreams come true.

For a more uncommon fishing experience, trek to Jamaica’s interior; to rural areas like the spot pictured above – The Hampden Estate reservoir just beneath Jamaica’s mystical Cockpit Country. Here, the fishing is equally more laid back and purposeful; the gear, less sophisticated; the experience, more authentically Jamaican.
