Skipping Stones on Castara Bay, Tobago

It’s forever been a favorite beach going pastime of us Bennett boys – scouring the shoreline for perfectly flat stones, facing the sea, dropping down sidearm and whipping them at the onrushing waves, counting the skips and jumps as they go. We’d keep a tally as we went along, of course, the winner earning nothing more than the glancing glory that comes with besting your brother at most anything. Now, as the proud dad of preteen twins, few things give me more joy than watching my boys carry on the family tradition whenever we hit uncommon shores like these along Castara Bay on the north coast of Tobago.
