Glee Along The Golden Sands Of Castara Bay, Tobago

The sands along Castara Bay, the rustic and remote beachy outpost neatly tucked away on Tobago’s northeast coast, are not your typical beach lover’s picture of pristine.

Like most of Tobago’s shores not named Pigeon Point, No Man’s Land, or Turtle Beach, this sands here bear a grayish brown hue, a product of the island’s rather uncommon volcanic roots.

(There are no volcanoes on Tobago.)

During the one sunset we managed to enjoy here a few years ago, though, these sands wildly outshone the pristine white sands preferred by most.

Just look at how the fading sunlight plays upon the grains, amplifying the moment while literally infusing gold into the Golden Hour.
