Hiking Through The Wilds of Nevis: Wish You Were Here

To this day it remains my favorite hiking adventure – the half-day trek up and into the mystical wilds of Nevis, following a centuries-old trail and equally old pipeline to The Source, the aptly-named ancient point of origin for all of the fresh spring water in Nevis.

Fresh mangoes, soursop, and water from The Source itself fueled our journey. Monkeys scurried through the trees overhead; Caribbean doves sang out to us along our way. Moss covered everything as we progressed to higher elevations, cooler temperatures, mist and clouds.

An enchanted fantasy of an experience on an island that’s uncommon in every way.

More on hiking The Source Trail in Nevis here.

Only 2.5 miles (4km) separate Saint Kitts from her sister island, Nevis. This makes for some pretty dramatic views from either shore.
