Our Posts about British Virgin Islands
I’ve never been jealous of my brother Patrick for any reason. Sure he’s younger, taller and a bit fitter than I am. He’s also an incredible artist (something I can’t believe we haven’t touched on here as yet), and a superior photographer, as you’ve no doubt noticed in his Wednesday Wallpaper series and photo posts like this, this and this.
Still, I’m not one for needlessly competitive sibling rivalries. I’m truly just happy for him and proud of all his talents and accomplishments.
Nope, I’ve never been jealous of Patrick… Never, that is, until he went on his amazing sailing adventure through the Grenadines.

It’s not often that you can get a discount on a villa vacation in the Caribbean during the winter months, but we found one at the newest such property in Tortola that may be too good to pass up!
The property is the brand-new Frenchmans Paradise, an absolutely idyllic three-bedroom/three-bathroom villa set above Soper’s Hole Marina on Tortola’s secluded Frenchman’s Cay. From its perch, Frenchman’s Paradise offers incredible views of surrounding cays and islands, including St. John to the south, and the Thatch Islands – Little and Great – to the west. Each bedroom actually faces due west, making those nice cozy spots between the sheets the best places in the house to enjoy the romantic sunset at the, *ahem*, climax of each day.

As our faithful readers already know, Uncommon Caribbean loves a great concert, so it’s little surprise that on this Saturday we’d rather be in Tortola for the annual BVI Music Festival. The 3-day party’s ideal location in Cane Garden Bay offers music lovers the option of groovin’ on the sand, in the water, or out on their boats, all the while enjoying fabulous local food and friendly faces. Headliners this year include Nina Sky, Fantasia and CoCo Tea, so you know this jam will be hot. The video above of Tanya Stephens performing her hit “It’s a Pity” at last year’s Festival provides a glimpse of what we’re missing…
