Tuesday 2 Cents: Brian Green

Uncommon Caribbean recently caught up with Brian Green, a born and bred Bajan now living in Atlanta, who has a knack for making dream weddings a reality. This former hotel executive and Barbados Tourism Authority official routinely “brings out the fabulous” for even the most discerning brides and grooms in his role as CEO/Dream-Maker at F&G Events. Here’s what he had to say about the romantic side of his home island…

UC: Most romantic spot in Barbados to pop the question?

Brian: If I had to pick just one, my favorite would be atop Bathsheba (East Coast of Barbados) overlooking the famous Rock and all of the East Coast. A close second would be a sunset catamaran cruise along the West Coast. Of course, you can never go wrong with dinner at The Cliff Restaurant, an unbelievably romantic setting sure to spur the right answer.

UC: Best destination wedding spot on Barbados?

Brian: For me, nothing beats The Crane Hotel. The pool area, with its surrounding gardens and cliff-top setting above the beach, is simply amazing. St. James Parish Church is another great option. It’s right on the water and is the oldest parish Church on the island, first erected in 1628.

UC: No honeymoon in Barbados would be complete without ____ .

Brian: Dinner at Pisces, St Lawrence Gap. The place just oozes romance: amazing food, amazing waterfront location.

UC: What 1 thing would most surprise people to know about Barbados?

Brian: The one thing that would surprise people about Barbados is the ease of which we live and enjoy life.  In fact the motto LONG LIVE LIFE is the new slogan for the island, and it truly fits. We enjoy life to the fullest; we embrace everyone as a friend; and we encourage you to stay a while and recharge your batteries. With 75 daytime activities to enjoy, a slew of world renowned restaurants to savor and vistas that will make you feel the island was hand crafted just for your enjoyment – Barbados epitomizes what a vacation should be!
