All the recent talk about Penelope Cruz joining the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 got us thinking about the excellent locations throughout the Caribbean where the first 3 Pirates films were shot. If you’d like to re-create some of the more memorable moments in the adventures of Jack Sparrow, here’s where you should go…
Wallilabou Bay, St. Vincent
Port Royal, where the story begins for Jack, Will and Elizabeth, is situated on the northwest coast of St. Vincent. The set was basically built around a hotel in this black sand cove.
Samana, Dominican Republic
Quite a bit of the first movie was filmed here in the northeast DR before they moved to Dominica as the main shooting location for the next two films.
