Deal of the Week: A Romantic Hilltop Escape in Martinique

The living room in the main building at Plein Soleil/SBPR

Maybe it’s the rhum. Maybe it’s the food. Maybe it’s the amazing natural beauty. Maybe it’s all of the above… Whatever the reason, Martinique is undeniably among the most romantic islands I’ve ever set foot on.
Martinique is French, after all. Better still, it’s in the Caribbean. Take a bit of that legendary Parisian predisposition toward all things l’amour and combine it with the sultry allure of the Caribbean and you have a recipe for romance rivaling just about anywhere outside of the Eiffel Tower itself.
For further proof, see The Thomas Crown Affair. You know, the 1999 film starring Pierce Brosnan and Renee Russo with the sizzling tropical island getaway scenes… You guessed it, they were filmed in Martinique.

Deal of the Week: Free Flights to Kanantik Reef & Jungle Resort

courtesy Madigan Pratt & Associates, Inc.

If you’re interested in the latter, then the Kanantik Reef & Jungle Resort in Belize should be on your short list of places to check out.
Located along 1,300 feet of private beach on Belize’s Caribbean coast, Kanantik is a vacation dream come true for nature lovers, adventure seekers, or just about anyone who wants to really get away from it all.
I mean, you talk about remote, just check out the aerial photo at left.

Yes, we know, cruise ships herd tourists by the busload up to the Animal Flower Cave, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check it out… it just means you have to out smart the crowds!
First off, Mondays are the best day for this excursion as many cruise ships dock on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Next, set out early. If you’re on the west coast, 8:30am would be a good start.

Uncommon Beauty: Cepe Beach, Venezuela

AntonioMou

Most any day on any beach in the Caribbean is bound to be fun, but a day spent at Cepe Beach in Venezuela promises to be a whole lot more. This place just oozes idyllic with an undeveloped strip of pristine white sand, crystal-clear water and minimal signs of civilization.
We love our beaches secluded, and Cepe definitely fits the bill. In fact, the only way to get here is by hitching a boat ride from the town of Choroni, a good 30 minutes away. The only crowds are the fish in the sea and the lush vegetation in the hills to the south.
