Today’s Saturday Video post is all about you guys! Well, most of you anyway…
A few weeks ago, we ran a poll on our Facebook page asking you to tell us your favorite watersports activity. As snorkeling was the overwhelming top choice, we’re sharing a cool video view of what it’s like to explore the undersea environs around Sandy Island, a truly off-the-beaten-path spec of sun-kissed perfection in the Grenadines.
Actually, Sandy Island is a satellite islet of Carriacou, the largest of the Grenadines covering 13 square miles, that together with neighboring Petite Martinique constitute two of the three primary islands that form the country of Grenada. The name Carriacou comes from the original Amerindian name for the island “Carou-carou,” which translates to “land of reefs.” As you can see in the video, the name fits, making this an excellent spot for all you snorkeling lovers to check out.
Absolutely stunning! It’s one of the most beautiful, un spoilt parts of the Caribbean in my opinion and if you can handle the basic life and love rum you will love the island!!!
Indeed, many of the elements that make up an ideal destination for us are here, but for those needing a little more convincing, click here to check out Dandakaio. Three bedrooms, two baths, infinity pool, private and secluded hillside location – what’s not to like?
Rates at Dandakaio vary throughout the year. For a quote, click here, and be sure to tell ’em you heard about it on Uncommon Caribbean.
