#LoveWins in the Caribbean too… Sometimes

You see random signs of love all over the Caribbean.

These corals that Flickr user Boris Kasimov came across in Bonaire a few years ago, this wall in Grand Cayman, this heart-shaped patch of sand in St. Croix – love is everywhere in our islands.

Despite this, sadly, love does not always win in the Caribbean the way it did in the U.S. today.

The Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage across the United States doesn’t have any direct bearing on any corner of the Caribbean not named Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, but consider: more gay marriages will surely yield more gay honeymooners.

And the Caribbean has been the top honeymoon destination for Americans for years.

Consider…

Which islands will openly embrace the love?

Time, like today’s ruling, I suppose, will tell.
