We’re not going to lie, we love to sail!
But if there’s one thing we love almost as much as sailing, it’s the traditional “We’re here beers” or as we prefer to call them: “We’re done rums!” Nothing rewards that moment when you’ve finally arrived after a salty crossing at your destination of choice quite like an alcoholic beverage! And nothing complements said alcoholic beverage quite like a sensational sunset.
Luckily for sailors in the Caribbean, most of the choices protected harbors are on the west coasts of West Indian islands, thanks to the consistent tradewinds. This means that more often then not, your “we’re done rums” will come with a scintillating side of a sunset settling into the sea.
Le port de Gustavia is no exception. While the bustling harbor may sport world-class shopping and be the entryway for many to little St. Barths’ interior, bobbing in that bay saluting the setting sun with my sundowner of choice is more than enough of a draw for me.
