Sailors charting a course for Martinique have lots of sweet spots to choose from to station their vessels. The island boasts 10 different marinas, most of them of the full-service variety with world-class repair, retrofitting, and provisioning services on-site. The largest marina, Marin Yacht Harbour Marina, offers a total of 650 berths, plus 15 additional moorings to accommodate super yachts. A tad further north along the Caribbean coast, the tranquil surrounds pictured here in Les Anses-d’Arlet make for an ideal anchorage. It’s hardly the only such spot, of course. Numerous sheltered coves and hurricane holes line Martinique’s Caribbean coast and the central part of her Atlantic shores.

    Hi Steve

As a matter of fact, we’re anchored in Martinique right now. You’re right, there are many spots on the island for sailors to visit. The port of Marin on the southern end is full of boats and services, and we’ve spent weeks anchored there. We’re presently right outside Marin, anchored just off St. Anne. We love the easy access to the friendly town, and the nearby beaches.

We’ve definitely anchored in Grand Anse D’Arlet, the bay featured in this post. We had some fun times there, with some some adventures on shore.

Petite Anse D’Arlet, just south of there, is another popular spot.

Further north is Fort De France, and we’ve spent quite a bit of time there, anchored just off the fort. It’s a beautiful city, with easy access to shore for boaters.

St. Pierre, closest to the northern tip of the island, is one popular anchorage that we have still yet to visit. It’s on our list though!

    • Wow, SUPER jealous that I’m not there with you guys, Mike! Thanks for chiming in, and continued good times in Martinique!
