Perched Poolside in Provo, Turks and Caicos
It’s no surprise to find a pretty sweet pool gracing the grounds of The Somerset on Grace Bay in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. Every resort on Provo has at least one nice pool. The Somerset has two (here’s the other one), though the one you’re looking at here is especially appealing to swimming enthusiasts like me.
At 138 feet, it’s the longest pool in all of the Turks and Caicos Islands, which in and of itself should make it nice enough for a few laps.
This pool goes well beyond nice for fitness swimmers, though.
You see, you don’t have to log laps here to get in a good workout – no flip turns necessary. That’s because this pool is actually equipped with a reverse-current feature. You know, like those Endless Pools you keep seeing on those infomercials, only much more spectacular.
Oh, and did I mention that there’s an underwater sound system pumping tunes to help you keep your pace?
You’d be hard-pressed to find a better swim workout at a resort pool anywhere in the Caribbean!
As you can see, though, maxing and relaxing astride this pool ain’t so bad either…
