Sunrise Over The Historic Elbow Cay Lighthouse
Built back in 1864, this historic landmark is one of the last of its kind—a manual lighthouse wound every two hours by its keeper.
For me, waking early while sailing through the Sea of Abaco aboard our lovely Sunsail catamaran and taking in the quiet bliss of this moment truly induced a zen-like calm. The fluffy clouds traveling across ripples of light in the sky. The sea’s undulating reflections. The birdsong acting as punctuation to nature’s quiet dialogue. The perfect moment of Zen:
However, when I think of the lighthouse watchman who just spent all night winding and winding and winding… Well, I just imagine him drifting off to sleep to this every morning.
Either way, a heavenly moment.
