Testing The Waters at Carlisle Bay: Wish You Were Here

Carlisle Bay is a big beautiful stretch of Bajan paradise surrounded by the UNESCO World Heritage Site including Bridgetown and its Garrison. Its calm, clear waters and brilliant white sand beach are a major draw for the cruise ship hordes, but there’s also much here for the uncommon traveler—you just need to know where to look.

For the freshest lobster on the island, look no further than Lobster Alive right on the sand. For actually great Trinidadian food on Barbados (Steve doesn’t believe me, yet) check out D Trini Pot Restaurant right next to Lobster Alive. (More on that another time.) And for a little uncommon adventure look below the waves. Six wrecks in the center of the bay offer a fantastic (and easy) dive experience.

Wish you were here?
