Deal of the Week: An Uncommon All-Inclusive Resort Package in Tortola

“All-inclusive” tends to be a dirty term when it comes to uncommon travel. We like to move around, get out in the communities we’re visiting, and really delve deep into the local culture. All-inclusives, of course, encourage just the opposite.

Sure you get a great value, but can you really say that you sampled the local fare in your West Indian destination of choice if you never ventured away from your resort’s buffet line?

Yeah, not so much.

There are exceptions to the typical all-inclusive rule, however. Among the best I’ve seen lately is the great five-night all-inclusive package currently available at the Long Bay Beach Club in Tortola.

I’ve waxed poetic with fond, old memories of this great property before. I doubt, though, that the deals here were as good then as they are now.

The five-night all-inclusive package carries all the typical food and drink benefits you get with any other all-inclusive deal, plus a couple of extra added inclusions that make it easy to move around Tortola (and its surrounding islands), get out in the communities we’re visiting, and really delve deep into the local culture. Specifically, I’m talking about a three-day car rental and an island-hopping day sail aboard the catamaran Mystique. You get all this for nightly rates starting at just US$250 per-person!

Eligible bookings must be made by October 31, 2013 for travel completed by December 20, 2013.
