When most people think about getting away from it all in Antigua and Barbuda, they think about beaches. Antigua hiking, though, is just as sweet.

Martello Tower Barbuda dates back to the early 1800s. It's said to be the oldest such tower in the Caribbean. It's also the island's strongest structure.

Any dreams or visions that I ever had about the beauty of the beaches in Barbuda were far exceeded by my actual first sight of them a few months ago.

Princess Diana Beach at Cocoa Point is simply stunning in ways that no other beach I've ever seen anywhere can match. It's just the best.

Summer and fall? Aren't they more suited to road trips, amusement parks, and binge-watching TV..? Not the case when it comes to Antigua and Barbuda.

Patrick and I just returned from a week+ in Antigua and Barbuda. (Our first-ever visit to Barbuda.) Here's a preview of the stories we've got planned.

This was the scene yesterday at sunrise in St. John's Harbour, the dramatic skies overhead presaging what would turn out to be one of the most perplexing, eye-opening, and, ultimately, inspiring days of adventuring I've ever experienced anywhere. Our destination: Barbuda.

While a lot of our trip will be focused on our usual uncommon adventuring, we also plan to explore the state of things in the wake of last summer's destructive hurricanes. Antigua is said to have been largely spared any damage, but sadly the same cannot be said for Barbuda.

Antigua and Barbuda are just plain beautiful in most every way.
