Wild Jungle Bay Sunrise: Photo of the Day
Unlike Patrick, I’m not one for waking with the sun. The sunrises at a select few very special places, though, don’t care for personal sleep preferences. They simply demand that you get up and experience them in all their glory.
Remember this special place? Yeah, that was nice. The sunrises here on one particular morning of every year are very unique as well.
My new personal favorite, though, has got to be what you see pictured above.
The date: February 8, 2014.
The time: 6:42am.
The place: Breadfruit Cottage balcony at Jungle Bay, Dominica.
No matter what time of day or night you might find yourself here, you’re sure to enjoy the optimal sights, smells, sounds, and sensations of nature. In the early morning hours, though, everything is elevated.
The roar of the waves crashing on the rocky shore well below your perch, the earliest sing-song notes from fine-feathered neighbors up among the tree tops all around you, the gently encroaching light – it’s enough to stir even the heaviest of sleepers out of bed, exciting the imagination for another day of adventure in The Nature Island.
