Toasting The New Year At Champagne Reef, Dominica
Southern Dominica, along the Caribbean coast… You won’t find too many of the sanguinely sweet and sunny white-sand shores that have, in many ways, come to define the Caribbean travel experience here.
The preponderance of volcanoes all over the island, nine in total, ensure that the majority of Dominica’s shores bear a singularly silver-grey countenance.
Alluring, raw, and often more rocky than most would like, these shores aren’t for everyone all the time.
As I’ve written before, though, the particular dark-sand shores along the Caribbean Sea in southern Dominica pictured above couldn’t be more perfect for starting any New Year off right.
These, of course, are the shores that line Champagne Reef, and while we’ve previously extolled the virtues of the ringing in the New Year among the bubbles offshore, I’m sure you’d agree that the experience on-land ain’t too shabby either…
