Seagulls at Sunset – A Sign of Peace in Exuma, The Bahamas

They’re not doves, those quintessential symbols of peace known the world over, seemingly for all of time. These are seagulls, swooping in, most likely, to snare a late-afternoon snack, during the golden hour somewhere in Exuma.

They look like doves to me, though, silhouetted as they are against the radiant burnt-orange sunset sky. They make me think of peace.

Peace, and a better tomorrow…
