Grand Isle Resort & Spa, Great Exuma: View With A Room
This is the view that greeted me upon each morning of a glorious stay that I fully enjoyed a few years back at the posh, yet unpretentious Grand Isle Resort & Spa in Great Exuma. Morning coffee or tea (I prefer this green variety), some fresh fruit, and a bagel on the balcony of my supremely spacious, 2,600 square-foot penthouse villa, the highest elevation along Emerald Bay, proved an inspiring way to start the day. There was only one problem…
As usual, I was alone.
All that space, all that luxury, this view…

…and no one to share it with.
As longtime UC readers well know, the wife doesn’t usually get to tag along on my travels. This can lead to some long, and in the case of this particular trip, “hard,” nights. (Full explanation on the, *ahem*, benefits of conch pistol, aka: Bahamian Viagra, here.)
Anyway, there I was enjoying all the amazing that makes mornings at Grand Isle so special when along came this guy…

Birdie Breakfast Companion at Grand Isle Resort & Spa, Great Exuma | SBPRDude sat on the corner post of my balcony railing like he owned the place, barely flinching as I snapped away with my camera just a few feet away.

He didn’t just pop in for a second and fly away either. My new feathered friend actually hung out with me until I, myself, got up to get going on my day. That amazing beach below and Exuma’s other treasures and adventures weren’t going to wait for either of us all day…
See why Grand Isle is one resort you’ll want to revisit again and again in this earlier post.
