Florida Keys Flats Fishing – Wish You Were Here
Sunday is just as much fishing day as it is beach day across the Florida Keys. Flats boats like this can be seen tearing out to the backcountry from the pre-dawn hours. Florida Keys flats fishing is good all up and down the archipelago, though the best spots extend south from Marathon. Grassy areas and mangrove islets preferred by bonefish, permit, barracuda, and other prized catches are more prevalent down there. Unlike my experience at Deep Water Cay, I didn’t get to try my hand at Florida Keys flats fishing during our recent Toyota Rav4 Adventure road trip. Another great reason to hit the road heading south again soon…
