Sunset Cruising in Terre-de-Haut, Guadeloupe

Crowding aboard those big catamarans offering sunset sails across the Caribbean is nice. There’s usually champagne, rum punch, and assorted hors d’oeuvres to enjoy along with the usual majesty put on by Mother Nature to close the day.

Given the choice, though, and assuming romance is in the offing, I might prefer something more along the line of what you see pictured here – a dinghy just for two, a pair of oars to match, and not much else but the shimmering sea and sky all around us…

Sunset At Ô Bar in Terre-de-Haut, Guadeloupe

Experiencing sunrise from the highest point of Terre-de-Haut took my breath away. The Sunset show in this special place is equally as amazing.

The butterflies in my belly intensified with every passing second. Terre-de-Haut, the jewel of Les Saintes, was only 45 minutes away.

Sunset Over Îlet à Cabrit des Saintes, Guadeloupe

Terre-de-Haut in the Îles des Saintes, Guadeloupe offers more amazing sunrise and sunset viewpoints than you might expect for an island of such modest size. This one of Îlet à Cabrit is one of my favorites.
