Saturday Video: Jamaica’s Island Cruiser is One Irie Ride
A lot of people I know are fairly particular about their choice of rental car, especially when traveling in the Caribbean. Patrick, for instance, insists on a Jeep every chance he gets. I tend to be more flexible, preferring instead to roll with whatever beat-up, somewhat tinted sub-compact I can find (especially when it comes with perks like this). I think I can speak for both of us, though, when I say that our goals are the same: fit in with the local scene, while still being able to get around to virtually every corner of whatever island we happen to enjoying.
Next time I’m back at my usual address in Montego Bay (or Turks & Caicos), I hope to avail myself of the vehicle featured in the video above. It’s called the Island Cruiser, and as far as I know, it’s the only car actually manufactured in the Caribbean. What better way could there be to fit in with the local island scene?!
Have you ever driven one of these irie rides? Leave us a comment below and let us know what it’s like…
