Monks Bath, St. Croix was carved from the rocky shoreline near Hams Bay 360+ years ago making it the oldest swimming pool on the island.

Our first Whitby Beach sunset wasn't marred by the sargassum. I actually rather think the seaweed added a nice sort of wild shores quality to the scene.

Tropic of Cancer Beach is the longest beach on Little Exuma and it's blessed with white sand and water that has to be seen to be believed.

One of my favorite things about Empyrean Villas in North Caicos is that it's not located directly on the beach. This encourages exploration.

Given the choice, I'd most want to start 2019 just like this; floating aimlessly and without a care off the shores of Sandy Point back home in St. Croix.

Made up of 3 tiny islets about 22 miles off the Placencia Penninsula, the Silk Cayes are amazing not just for what's above the water, but also what's below.

In the first 3 months after a major hurricane one might expect any affected island to still show widespread signs of devastation. This was the big surprise of my trip back to St. Croix this past December – for the most part, the place looked pretty clean.

What St. Croix is right now is open for business, especially for uncommon travelers bent on fully immersing themselves in one of the Caribbean's most culturally rich, naturally blessed, and uniquely special islands. 

Upon arriving back on St. Croix in mid-December and making our initial drive north of Frederiksted toward Rainbow, we feared our favorite beach bar might not be there.
