Cabrita Point View of St. John
It’s got to be among the most uncommon views of St. John. At least that’s what I thought upon stumbling across the scene above while Patrick and I wandered aimlessly around the easternmost environs of St. Thomas back in May. The area is called Cabrita Point, and even if you’ve visited St. Thomas dozens of times, like me, it’s a fair bet you’ve never been here. The Ritz-Carlton is nearby, as is Two Sandals, the charming bed and breakfast that formed our initial home away from home on this particular visit to St. Thomas/St. John. (More on Two Sandals coming soon!) There aren’t any major attractions or fine beaches out this way; just a small collection of private homes and villa rentals blessed with some of the finest views on offer anywhere in the Virgin Islands. It is this particular panorama, though, that captivated me most of all. I’ve dreamed many dreams of the view I’d like to wake up to everyday if/when I ever move back to the Caribbean. This vista would certainly be a dream come true.
