Ebony and Ivory Sand Beaches, Side by Side in Les Anses-d’Arlet
As we’ve noted before, Martinique is a beach-lover’s paradise. In particular, the island suits those who like some variety in their beach sand. From the black sands in the north, home to the majestic Mount Pelée volcano, to the white sands of the south, Martinique has beaches for everyone. Nowhere can you double your fun experiencing Martinique black and white sand beaches more easily than Les Anses-d’Arlet. In particular, the spot pictured here. To the right, the white sands of Anse Dufour. At left, the aptly-named Anse Noir shows just how beautiful black sand beaches can be. The Point Y observation deck sits atop the peninsula separating the two, allowing you to get a glimpse at each cove before selecting where you’d like to splash down.
