My Fort Zachary Taylor Park Bench – A Virtual Seat in the Caribbean

Good seats are easy to find at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach in Key West. At least they were when our late-summer road trip through the Florida Keys brought us here a few months ago. We had just wrapped shooting a segment of this funny video highlighting the top three things we loved about our Toyota RAV4 Adventure Crossover SUV. It was hot, I was sweaty, and desperate for a cool seat in the shade. The bench pictured above, though, proved the perfect panacea.

Set right above the rocks at the water’s edge, the perch provided a great view. Passing boats, darting sea birds, and mangrove isles off in the distance echoed vistas I’d enjoyed in The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and elsewhere along my Caribbean travels. So too did the casuarina trees offering shade. A light, yet steady breeze pulled the whole island vibe together.
