A Glimpse Back To The Future In St. Croix
This is my favorite photo from my just completed trip home to St. Croix. Not only does it take me back there right now, it recalls my own elementary school years. I used to be that kid sitting alone outside quietly doing my homework as I waited for Mom or Dad to come get me. Those days were much simpler, of course. We didn’t have the digital distractions of today to keep us from our studies, the outdoors, the sheer unique joy of growing up in St. Croix. It may be an old school image, but in many ways to me it speaks more to St. Croix’s future, and the hope I have for the magical milieu of island life here to retain its sweetness for generations to come.
