Sweet Sight of Les Saintes from Trois-Rivières, Guadeloupe
Though you may have caught the ferry over to Les Saintes countless times from Trois-Rivières, the très-quiet seaside village at the far southern tip of Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe, it’s likely that you’ve never enjoyed this view of your intended destination. This is what Les Saintes looks like from a petit park set astride the historic Notre Dame de l’Assomption (est. circa 1701) located in the heart of Trois-Rivières proper. Most surely miss this view as the ferry dock is located below the main downtown area, which sits atop a rather steep hill. Arrive on time for your ferry, and you won’t even think twice about poking around and making discoveries like this. Screw up the ferry schedule and get here way late, as I did, and you’ll find that Trois-Rivières actually has quite a lot to offer, this special view among the highlights.
