Tiki Huts Along Bambarra Beach, Middle Caicos
They stand out like brightly-colored candies amidst the dense cluster of casuarina trees lining the shore of Bambarra Beach in Middle Caicos. Tiki huts, each one identical in size, brighten the beach scene here even when they’re not in use. That’s how we found them, quiet and empty, when we happened down here during my recent birthday escape to the all-new Empyrean Villas on North Caicos. A small stage and a few lines of party flags strung between the trees provided hints of the party possibilities here. Could all of this be for the Valentine’s Cup, the annual races celebrating the storied tradition of model boat building in the Turks and Caicos? What other festivals go down here? We hope to return some day to get some answers… and see these colorful huts in action.
