Dragon Cay Overlook, Middle Caicos
Long before this modern overseas road, the Crossing Place Trail served as the primary footpath connecting North and Middle Caicos. The original trail stretched from the village of Lorimers at the eastern edge of Middle Caicos, through area plantations before ending at the aptly named Crossing Place Point. In those early days, before the road connecting the islands, you’d have to wait for low tide to wade across to North Caicos. The Crossing Place Trail that exists today doesn’t cover the full length of the original, but thankfully it still includes many of the most scenic seaside sections, including this one at Mudjin Harbour. A highlight of the trail here winds up to the heights of Dragon Cay Overlook, where you can enjoy amazing views of the surrounding seascape and arguably the most iconic sight in all of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
