Dawn Breaks Over Great Sister, Antigua

The dozens of tiny islets, rocks, and cays that encircle Antigua are a big part of what makes this special island such a delight for sailors and boaters. While many of these satellites invite visitation, others, like Great Sister, are best admired from afar. The rugged, mostly rock terrain doesn’t offer much of an opportunity to come ashore anyway. More importantly, you wouldn’t want to disturb the scores of seabirds we saw welcoming the dawn here a few weeks ago while en route to Barbuda.
