Jet Skis vs Sailboats Off Grand Case, St. Martin

I have a love-hate thing going with jet skis that goes way back.

Loud, obnoxious, and decidedly bad for the environment – even with their newer, more modern engines – jet skis just don’t fit with the UC vibe.

At the same time, though, there’s that pesky need for speed…

The kind that tapped into my inner child forcing a smile as I begrudgingly admired the scene above a few months ago – a squadron of jet skis speeding through what had heretofore been a serene collection of sailboats bobbing peacefully in the clear-cool waters just offshore Grand Case, St. Martin.

Conflicted, I sighed and resigned myself to simply enjoying the scene, at the same time hoping for a kindler, gentler jet ski sometime in the near future…
