First Steps Of The Day Onto Baie De Petites Cayes, Saint Martin

Few are the travel thrills that get my heart to pounding quite like those pictured above.

Sunrise. An empty windswept beach. Pure natural wonder all around. Us few the lucky ones leaving some of the very first footprints of the day in these pristine sands.

This was the scene at the climax of my early-a.m. hike to Baie De Petites Cayes at the very northern tip of Saint Martin a little more than one year ago. It’s a scene I hope to replicate on a similarly secluded beach during my next SXM adventure later this month.
