Welcome To St Thomas/St John Week!
Nine months. Few intervals of time carry greater or more powerful universal significance. It is the ultimate journey; one intermittently fraught with pain, joy, sacrifice, and finally – hopefully – the very best thing that could ever happen to you. Miracles are made in nine months. And so, in a way, I guess it was fitting that we found ourselves back in St Thomas/St John nine months following the passage of hurricanes Irma and Maria.
Miracles were certainly needed here in the aftermath of the powerful storms. Would nine months prove enough time to restore these islands to their former glory? Should you visit St Thomas/St John this fall/winter? If so, where should you stay? What should you do?
As proud Virgin Islanders ourselves, born and bred in St Croix, we had a personal stake in answering these, and other questions about our sister islands. After all, like I like to say, there’s no place like home, especially when home is the United States Virgin Islands.
