Even More Beach to Love at Trunk Bay, St. John
Trunk Bay is easily St. John’s most famous beach. In fact, practically everyone who visits the island is almost certain to return with a photo similar to the one above—taken from the lookout as you approach these world-renowned sands. But this photo is a little different. This one was taken on our last visit—just nine months following the passage of hurricanes Irma and Maria. So, yes, gone were many of the palm trees that had backed this beach prior to the twin storms, but in their place was something else: more beach. Yes, Trunk Bay has never, in my memory, looked quite so blessed with sand.
Since then, much of the grey you see on the hillsides has been replaced with green, but all that sand remains to make Trunk Bay, St. John somehow even more gorgeous than ever!
When was the last time you visited this famous strip of sand?
