There is a certain indefatigable pride that comes with being from the U.S. Virgin Islands. It’s a pride that’s most certainly outsized relative to the modest 134 square miles that encompass the collective area of our 80+ islands, but it’s also absolutely understandable if you, like me, ever called the Virgin Islands home, or visited for a time and surrendered to her charms.
St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John – no other English-speaking Caribbean islands are easier for Americans to visit (No passport required for U.S. Citizens!), or, in my very prideful biased opinion, offer as varied and rewarding a series of travel experiences.
A rich history and culture, distinctive cuisine, amazing beaches and deserted islands, hiking and camping eco adventures, world class scuba diving, recreational sports of every variety, the Caribbean’s most celebrated emerging reggae scene, even skydiving – our home islands have it all!
