Watching Sportfishing Boats Go In and Out in Provo, Turks and Caicos

They start out early every morning, trekking here and fro across the horizon all day to parts unknown, eventually racing the setting sun to port.

From my prized perch along the prime section of Grace Bay where sits Ocean Club East I watched them a few weeks ago, their rhythmic dance upon the calm otherworldly expanse of aquamarine that as much as anything defines the Turks and Caicos Islands keeping me enraptured at various turns throughout my stay.

Sportfishing boats are as ubiquitous as sunny skies in and around Provo, and for good reason too.

Widely known as the “Blue Marlin Capital of the Caribbean,” the Turks and Caicos have long drawn adventurous anglers from all over the world. You see them most especially during the summer months, when it’s said that the Blue Marlin are most plentiful in these waters.

Sadly, I didn’t have a chance to hop aboard and join the chase during my visit earlier this summer, but it’s definitely on my list for next year.

If you have any hints, tips, or recommendations on sportfishing charters in the Turks and Caicos, let us know…
