Sailing Choppy Seas Around Scotts Head, Dominica

A reward awaits this sailor, and anyone else who happens to take a southwesterly route around Scotts Head, the stunning and historic tombolo that comprises the most southern point of Dominica. The mound, the peak of a long-dormant volcano, and the narrow land bridge that connects the former island with mainland Dominica is bordered to the eastern side pictured here by the ever-turbulent Atlantic Ocean. On the other side, the cool and quiet calm Caribbean Sea await this sailor just a few hundred meters and a sharp right turn from his current position…
