Antigua Snack Van Rusting Away

Next to the infamous Devil’s Bridge, just a stone’s throw away, it may just be the most popularly photographed anything in northeastern Antigua. This is a bit strange, of course, as it is, in fact, garbage. The Antigua snack van rusting away in the image above has become a featured element of the visitor experience at Indian Town Point in recent years. Well, at least it has for me. Every time I visit, I’m always keen to see how much it’s deteriorated. On each of those occasions I’ve also found that I’m not the only one enthralled by the rotting snackette. Just about everyone I’ve ever seen here stops to snap photos of the snack van. Some of those images are fantastically dramatic. Others, from long ago, offer a glimpse at a more glorious past. Either way it endures somehow, its metal frame stubborn to the salt air… for now.
