Bent Palm at Belle Mont Farm, St. Kitts: Photo of the Day
How?
I often find myself muttering this simple one-word query when admiring palm trees on my various travels throughout the Caribbean. My incredulity is often rooted in the wild shapes these amazing trees sometimes take, few wilder than the bent beauty pictured here. Patrick found this palm in St. Kitts amid the 400 acres of lush landscaped beds and carefully-tended agri-fields that comprise Belle Mont Farm, one of the most uniquely uncommon hotels in all of the Caribbean. There are lots of explanations for how palm trees end up this way. (Catch the science here.) Understanding the how is always nice, but it pales in comparison to actually being in special places like Belle Mont Farm and admiring natural charms like this in-person.
