Early-Morning Kayaking Off The Caribbean Coast of Martinique
The waters just off the midsection of Martinique’s western shores, where sits the town of Schoelcher, reward the uncommon traveler with all manner of treats. The sea here is generally calm and clear, ideal for standup paddleboarding. There’s good snorkeling beneath the rocky outcroppings that separate area bays, and some of the finest seaside eats on the island can be enjoyed at the ultra-local hidden gem that is Le Senat. An early-morning kayak tour, like the one pictured above, provides a great way to get the lay of the land from the sea that makes this area so special.
