Venture here in the late afternoon hours as I did recently and revel in the dynamic effect the fading light has on the blues and greens of Guadeloupe.

Experiencing sunrise from the highest point of Terre-de-Haut took my breath away. The Sunset show in this special place is equally as amazing.

A dinghy for two with a pair of oars to match and not much else...

This special place inspires all to get up and get out early to enjoy her charms...

Marigot in northeastern Martinique is well off the beaten track. Most people come here to surf or gaze in amazement at Martinique's Pain de Sucre.

The view of Fond-du-Curé from the ramparts of Fort Napoleon was just so stunning, so storybook beautiful that I had a hard time accepting that it was real.

Terre-de-Haut in the Îles des Saintes, Guadeloupe offers more amazing sunrise and sunset viewpoints than you might expect for an island of such modest size. This one of Îlet à Cabrit is one of my favorites.

I was surprisingly underwhelmed by the cuisine I encountered along much of my Guadeloupe adventuring. Le Bokit, though, was an exception.

Fort Napoleon (Guadeloupe) was never tested in battle, but as legend has it, death was no stranger here. The tale involves a pair of lovers.
