La Plage du Diamant, Martinique: Photo of the Day

Like everywhere else in the Caribbean, Martinique has its fair share of distinguishing geographic features. Mt. Pélee is a given in this regard, of course, but as we’ve shown before, Diamond Rock and La Dame Couchée deserve a little limelight as well.

One of the best places to see and capture them both in the same photograph – the city pier on the shores of Le Diamant.

I snapped the image above on a hazy morning exactly one week ago, a steady breeze off the roiling sea, a few dark clouds, and persistent light drizzle having no ill effect on my photo fun.
