Uncommon Envy: Kaieteur Falls, Guyana

Nine years have gone by? Nine years?! And we STILL haven’t visited Kaieteur Falls, much less Guyana?!!! I would never have believed this could happen in year-one of Uncommon Caribbean.

I wrote about the Caribbean’s most incredible natural wonder back then. The “largest single drop” waterfall in the world. Five times taller than Niagra Falls. More powerful than just about any waterfall anywhere!

Yeah, I’ve had my heart set on seeing and feeling this profoundly incredible natural treasure since as long as I can remember.

I was convinced a visit to Kaieteur was in the cards for us when I wrote that earlier post so long ago. Now, nine years later, I’m consumed with a desire to finally see (and feel) these legendary falls. This incredible video by Vimeo user Lee Sutterby further fuels my obsession…

Will we finally get to Guyana and Kaieteur Falls in 2019? Stay tuned…

Also, if you’ve been lucky enough to visit the falls and have tips on the best time of year to visit, please let us know by leaving a comment below.
